MS Assistant is a health and wellness self-management app that assists individuals aging with multiple sclerosis (MS). This evidence-based app helps users track their symptoms and share health data with providers. MS Assistant was developed as a dissertation project by Ljilja Ruzic Kascak, who recently graduated with a Ph.D. in Industrial Design from Georgia Tech. Ljilja was also awarded a mobile application seed grant from TechSAge.

Virginia Tech

Designed for individuals with chronic back pain, PULSE is a tactile response system that monitors posture through a compression fit vest with embedded sensors and a mobile app. The student designer worked with residents at a local retirement community to develop the concept.

Swivel Station

University of Washington

Students developed a device that makes cutting food easy for everyone, especially people with mobility in one arm or with limited muscle strength. The Swivel Station allows the user to cut food with the press of a button, which automatically turns on a re-wired electric knife.
