RESNA 2021 Virtual Conference

The Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA) 2021 Virtual Conference is taking place July 7 – 9, 2021 and will bring together assistive technology professionals from a variety of disciplines to exchange ideas about the latest innovations and research helping people with disabilities lead independent, healthy lives.

Join us for the TechSAge Workshop: "Technologies to Support Aging-in-Place for People with Long-Term Disabilities" (Wednesday 7/7 5-6pm EDT).

This interactive workshop will highlight select RERC TechSAge projects focused on developing supportive technologies for people aging with mobility disabilities. Elena Remillard will highlight archival analyses from the ACCESS study (N=60) exploring everyday activity challenges and support needs of older adults with long-term mobility disabilities. Travis Kadylak will discuss advances in developing a suite of Amazon Echo skills and instructional materials to support this population. The workshop will describe development efforts to support falls prevention and management for wheeled device users; projects include the development of a custom falls detection/alert system (Laura Rice) and a mobile health application to assess fall risk (Jake Sosnoff).
